PAPER GUIDELINES
Papers should be grammatically correct and well written. Students need to use both primary and secondary sources in their research. It is advised that the student collect the critical information from each source as they read: the author's name, title, publisher, and date of publication, and page number for quotes or if using archival collections, the collection name and number, box number and a description of the record used.

Papers must be the work of only one student.

Title page must contain entry title, student’s name, student’s grade, school name, and city.

Students grade must be on title page to be properly judged

Papers are to be 1,500 to 2,500 words in length, double spaced, in 12-point type, on 8.5 x 11-inch paper, with writing on only one side.

The 2,500 word limit does not apply to notes, bibliography, or title page.

Citations—footnotes, or endnotes—are required to credit the sources of specific ideas as well as direct quotations.

A bibliography must accompany the paper

Bibliography must be separated into primary and secondary sources.

PowerPoint presentation should include only photographs, maps, charts and graphs, no other supplemental materials. No audio.

Final paper must be submitted by February 1st
