The 2026 convention will be held in Tucson at the Arizona History Museum on Friday September 25 and Saturday September 26. Friday late afternoon will feature a welcome reception followed keynote speaker Mark Santiago. There will be a mini-conference with twelve paper presenters and numerous poster exhibits on Saturday.
Fall 2027 Tempe History Museum and Library--one-day conference with twelve sessions featuring individual paper presentations and round table discussions. Poster exhibits will be on display in the museum lobby all day. Following the close of the convention, an awards banquet will be held honoring to top papers from 2026 and 2027 and the best poster from 2027.
Fall 2028 Sharlot Hall Museum, Prescott--a mini-convention with four sessions featuring twelve paper presentations and numerous poster exhibits. The best poster from 2028 will be honored at the close of the convention.
Fall 2029 Tempe History Museum and Library--one-day conference with twelve sessions featuring individual paper presentations and round table discussions. Poster exhibits will be on display in the museum lobby all day. Following the close of the convention, an awards banquet will be held honoring the top papers from 2028 and 2029 and the best poster from 2029.
Since 1960, the Arizona History Convention has provided a forum for the dissemination of original research and the discussion of topics in Arizona history. Held annually at rotating sites throughout the state, anyone interested in the history of Arizona, the Southwest, or the borderlands region is encouraged to attend. The Convention offers an excellent space for professional historians, graduate students, avocational historians, and anyone interested in history to meet, present their research, and discuss the important topics of Arizona’s past.
